Feed Philly Coalition Webinar
We were looking into a Food Diversion Tax Credit for restaurants with initial positive feedback and then COVID hit. Subsequently, the Commerce Department steered us toward including restaurants in an existing sustainability program.
Commerce has agreed to open up the “Sustainability Tax Credit” to restaurants, and include food rescue/diversion as one of the “sustainable” options.
The next steps are to fill as many of the 75 available spots with food donations over the next few months. At that point, we (The FPC along with our strategists, will look to amend the bill to officially add food donation to the language, and possibly expand the credit (as well as possibly an increase in spots and/or credit amount).
But we need more restaurants to sign up and that is the focus of this webinar – get paid to do the right thing! How great is that – a $4,000 BURT tax credit for “upcycling” food! Tune in to learn all about it!
